Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
Birmingham steam engine pioneers. Gilded bronze statue of (left to right) steam engine pioneers: Matthew Boulton (1728-1809), James Watt (1736-1819), and William Murdoch (1754-1839). The statue is located outside the Registry Office, Broad Street, Birmingham, UK. The trio are examining designs for steam engines, built at the Boulton and Watt factory in the Soho area of Birmingham. Murdoch later become a partner in the factory. Planned in 1938, the statue was not unveiled until 1956. The sculptors were William Bloye and Raymond Forbes-Kings. The plinth is Portland Stone.
