This looks gorgeous printed on wood. It is now hanging on my therapy office wall and is perfect. The color is true to the photo. I love it.

I painted this in response to a challenge from Waterloo Watercolor Group in Austin, Texas, to create literature inspired art for an exhibit associated with the Texas Book Festival. I have always loved the William Carlos Williams poem titled 'The Red Wheelbarrow", and this painting honors the spirit of that poem.

I have drawn and painted all my life, but for many years, my "day job" was as a special education/science teacher of high school age students. Now I paint full time, primarily in watermedia. My favorite medium is transparent watercolor. I love the way the paper glows through layers of paint, and the way the paint has a mind of its own. Only with watercolor can you not assume that the paint will be obedient and stay where and as you put it. It is very much a living medium, that(on good days) cooperates with the painter to create art. I feel blessed to live near the beautiful Guadalupe River, and all the varied sights of the Central Texas Area.
